Fire-Rated MDF Disclaimer

July 13, 2010

The major manufacturers of fire rated MDF have decided to evade responsibility for any veneer issues involving use of their cores. These include, but are not limited to delamination, cracking, veneer discoloration and checking. Most of these manufacturers and their customers have had multiple occurrences of these issues, and apparently have not found a formula that will eliminate these problems.

Flexible Materials feels that even though we have not had any significant issue with these situations, and that this is a core issue, and not a lamination issue, we therefore must reluctantly absolve ourselves of responsibility for any of these problems that might occur when using fire rated MDF.

You can see the disclaimers posted by the major fire rated MDF manufacturers on their respective web sites.

As a result of these core issues, Flexible Materials will not accept any responsibility for these types of problems for products manufactured in good faith on any fire rated MDF core.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Mike DiGiuro
